NetAlert launches CyberQuoll

NetAlert is pleased to announce 'CyberQuoll' as the primary school resource in the NetAlert CyberSafe Schools program. This resource will help educators teach important Internet safety issues to students, through engaging and challenging computer based activities.
Six topics will be covered - the first being 'communication'. Students will be able to participate either online using the CyberQuoll website or via a CD-Rom which will be sent free of charge to all primary schools in Australia. For each of the activities there are teaching notes and student handouts.  The project will be completed by 30 June 2005.

The topics in CyberQuoll address the issues most relevant to primary school students in Australia.  They include:

• Communication
• Privacy
• Internet Content
• Online Publishing
• Security
• Internet Safety Quiz (General)

Each topic is designed with the appropriate language and style for students.

The first topic released (communication) engages students in issues to do with cyber bullying, negative communication, scams and hoaxes, netiquette, and untrustworthy and unreliable Internet content.
