NetAlert Expo - Tasmania

Tasmania, March, 2006
On 5 September 2004 the Prime Minister of Australia released details of the Government’s National Child Protection Initiative (NCPI). The NCPI is aimed at protecting Australian children and families from sex criminals. As part of the initiative, the Government has created a National CyberSafe Programme.

Under the programme, NetAlert has the responsibility of running a two year national Internet safety training roadshow and information campaign called the 'NetAlert Expo'. The NetAlert Expo will enable NetAlert to tour Australia, training parents, teachers and community members on the dangers confronting children online, and inform them of appropriate measures to take to make their Internet experience a safe one.

During March 2006, the NetAlert Expo will be touring the State of Tasmania.
