Swedish Online Youth Clinic

Hundreds of thousands of young Swedes visit youth clinics every year, but there are still many who refrain from going, not the least boys and young men - they only constituted 11.5% of the visitors last year. The Swedish government has therefore commissioned an online youth clinic that was launched in November.

The online youth clinic aims to make information about sex, sexual health and relationships more easily available to young people between 13 and 25. On the site you can ask questions anonymously about sensitive matters and receive answers from youth clinic professionals. The site has been developed in close collaboration with the target group.

In Sweden, most regions have youth clinics. They specialise in sexual health and psychiatric care and are staffed by a range of professionals including, midwifes, therapists and social workers. Young women and men can turn to them for advice and services regarding birth control prescriptions, pregnancy and STD tests.
