“Sieciaki on Holiday” tour
Seven holiday resorts, around 3500 young participants, an open air cinema, hip hop concerts, games and quizzes on internet safety and many more attractions…The third summer educational tour “Sieciaki on Holiday” has just kicked off in Poland. |
“Sieciaki on Holiday” is an educational campaign run by the Nobody’s Children Foundation in cooperation with TP Group Foundation. A team of 14 youth leaders will travel around the Polish coast organising seven outdoor events in the most popular seaside holiday destinations. Each “picnic” lasts about three hours, during which children can watch internet safety movies in an open air cinema, try out a new e-learning course on internet safety or explore safe internet sites for children developed within the project. The event is accompanied by a mini-concert by a hip hop band that performs dynamic songs about the cyber world. By taking part in the picnic quizzes and competitions children collect “bytes” which can later be exchanged for prizes, like mouse pads, games, computer accessories or books.
The summer campaign is organised in cooperation with local authorities. The project “Sieciaki on Holiday” enjoys wide media coverage in children’s and local press, TV and radio stations.
The idea of a Sieciaki tour links to www.sieciaki.pl educational resource for children, in which four Sieciaki characters – web wise children – teach the young Internet users how to stay safe online.
