EASY drums up support for new campaign against unsafe websites
EASY will be using their Rome workshop on July 8th at the European Parliament Italian Representation to find support for their “Comunicari sicuri” campaign. Adiconsum with “Cittadini di Internet”, another Italian consumers association, will present their new awareness raising campaign to the public institutions and authorities, industry and child welfare organisations. |
“Comunicari sicuri” deals with the need of a safer communication of personal data during the filling in of online forms or financial transactions. The participants will be asked to contribute to the discussion as well as to cooperate in strengthening synergies so as to guarantee a safer online environment for all.
The campaign foresees:
- a census of unsafe web sites that don’t use proper measures to protect users’ personal data;
- signaling this to the owner of these unsafe web sites and requesting improvements;
- the involvement and active participation of schools and universities in the flagging of unsafe web sites;
- the involvement of industry, institutions and authorities, media, etc.;
- the raising of awareness of consumers on how recognise unsafe web sites;
- a competition and awarding of prizes to young people reporting the largest number of unsafe web sites.
