The European Commission's Safer Internet Programme is organising its annual conference, Safer Internet Forum, on October 22-23 in Luxembourg, with the focus on the promotion of internet safety education in schools.

The Safer Internet Forum is a European conference for representatives of industry, law enforcement authorities, child welfare organisations and policy makers to exchange experience and knowledge.
The purpose of this year's Safer Internet Forum is to bring together school authorities, ministry representatives, NGOs, national awareness centres, researchers, industry representatives, as well as representatives of pupils, parents and teachers, in order to discuss the promotion of internet safety education in schools in Europe.
The Forum is open to all relevant stakeholders. There is no registration fee. Participants are kindly requested to sign up. The deadline for registration is 16/10/2009.

This year's edition will be preceded on the 21st of October by the following closed events:
* 1st INSAFE Pan European Youth Panel (comprising 2 youth panel representatives per country represented in the INSAFE awareness network) * European Teacher's Panel (1 teacher per country represented in the INSAFE awareness network)
The results of the closed children's panel and the teachers' panel taking place on 21 October will be presented at the Forum. The Safer Internet Forum will take place in the European Commission's Jean Monnet Building, Room M6, Rue Alcide de Gasperi, Kirchberg, Luxembourg.
