The Norwegian Media Authority wins website award

The Norwegian Media Authority won 2nd runner up in the nationally acclaimed Farmand-award for public websites 2009. "A pleasant and encouraging award, that confirms our commitment to the new website," says webmaster Eva Johnson.

"Considering our new site only has been up and running for six months, we see this as a great start to our work ahead," says editor Arnfinn Eide. The Farmand-award was handed out during a show in Oslo, as a part of the annual Webforum conference on March 19th.

The Farmand-award has been handed out since 1955, and started out as a prize to the corporation that produced the most complete and best annual report. In 1988 the awards secretariat expanded, and though the prize for best website is new, the awards long tradition and high quality assessment process is mean it is something that issought after by both public and private sites.

The Norwegian Safer Internet-project: Safe Use, has since February 09 also been part of this website-solution, and are proud of this award. "The functional and intuitive solutions that this site provides were one of the reasons we decided to change platforms and reinvent our site as a part of the large Media Authority-site," says Rita Astridsdotter Brudalen at Safe Use. "Our hits and stays at the site have undoubtedly increased since the change, and we can say the same for responses from the public."
