The internet and new online technologies continually present users with new options for information and communication.
These innovations are accompanied by new risks, such as exposure to illegal or detrimental content, proliferation of viruses and dialers, harassment in chatrooms, or misuse of personal data. Where children and young people are concerned, it is particularly difficult to deal adequately with this rapid development. Competence in using the internet must be actively promoted if these risks are to be minimized and the opportunities of the internet employed to full advantage. At the request of the European Commission, klicksafe.de is developing a national node in Germany to raise public awareness on the topic of internet safety. klicksafe.de provides thorough information on safety themes and is creating a network of existing initiatives in German which address questions of internet safety.

direct approach to target groups
training courses for multiplicators
topical events (regional and national)

klicksafe.de – promotes professional exchange among representatives of education, industry, and the technical sector
