Save the Children is providing a Hotline service for reporting illegal material on the internet. A training model on internet safety and supportive virtual interaction will be offered for content providers and moderators of web sites targeted for children and youth. Efforts are made to increase the awareness of professionals in different fields both nationally and internationally. Empowering education material will be created and maintained for children. Advocating for children’s rights and safety in relation to the new information technologies is continuous. Special attention will be given to grooming children for sexual abuse, increasing the availability of reliable adults for the children in the social surroundings on the net, and the mobile devices.

Mannerheim League for Child Welfare is providing the Helpline service which is based on the current national Child and Youth Phone services run by the MLL. Helpline gives support on internet-related troubles, for example harmful content and cyber bullying. All the current 350 volunteer counsellors are provided with the necessary training, continuous support and materials on children’s internet use and internet safety. MLL will also continue the internet safety awareness work done in the SIAP-project TUNNE (05-07). The network of Internet Safety Trainers and the Peer Support System in schools will be used and the idea of peer support system will be adapted into the internet.

Ficora is responsible for the Information Security Day campaign. A wide range of information about information security focused is offered on the campaign sites for each target group: schoolchildren, consumers, and small and medium-sized enterprises. Information is also delivered by brochures, websites of other organisations, events, fairs, media and radio interviews as well as advertisements. In addition, letters are sent to schools, municipalities and consumer authorities. There will be a "model school" whose activities relating to information security will reported on the campaign site. The aim is to pay attention to information security and encourage caution with passwords and other personal data for example. The campaign also serves as a reminder of the hidden dangers - such as viruses, data break-ins and scams - of the internet, e-mail and even mobile phones.
