BINSI

The mission of BINSI, Belgian Integrated Network Safer Internet, is to disseminate preventive messages on the safe use of Internet to different target groups(children(-18j), parents and teachers) in an integrated way. This integration lies in the creation of 1 reference point on Safer Internet issues. 2 websites, www.clicksafe.be (Belgian awareness node) and www.stopchildporno.be (Belgian hotline against child abuse images) are strongly linked.

The focus of www.clicksafe.be is to empower children, parents and teachers to use the information and communication technologies safely and responsible. The site seeks to give children, parents and teachers advice and support and tips to avoid risks when using the Internet. At the same time it emphasizes the positive aspects on the safe and responsible use of Internet.

BINSI runs information campaigns, provides awareness tools about the safe use of Internet, organises events and is member of the European Internet Safety network (INSAFE).

Child Focus, Foundation for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children, is co-ordinator of BINSI. Sensoa, Flemish expert organisation on sexual health, is consortium partner. BINSI co-operates intensely with all relevant stakeholders (government, law enforcement, industry, non- governmental and welfare organisations...) in Belgium dealing with internet issues.

BINSI is co-funded by the European Commission under the Safer Internet Plus programme.
