Privacy policy The Insafe portal of the European Safer Internet network is dedicated to the privacy of its users. Our intention is to provide a secure and safe environment for the general public, and more particularly parents, teachers, youth leaders, social workers, children and youths as well as internet safety specialists and organisations. The following statement outlines the policies by which the Insafe portal collects, manages, and uses the data provided to us by users. Use of the Insafe portal indicates you have read these policies and agree to abide by them.

Information collection
To serve its users as effectively as possible, the Insafe portal collects and stores email addresses of subscribers to its newsletter.
In the framework of its annual blogathon and internet safety competitions, it may collect and store the name and email address for the purposes of the given event only. Such information will be stored for a maximum period of 3 years before being deleted from the server.
Anonymous aggregate statistics are collected monthly to monitor user activity on the portal.

Use of collected information
Aggregate statistics are collected regularly, including, but not limited to, the number of users during a specific period, the number of pages viewed and the amount of time spent on pages. These are published monthly in an internal report.
The Insafe portal team will not divulge any data whatsoever for direct marketing purposes.
The Insafe portal team will have access to subscriber email addresses and can modify and/or delete information as needed to maintain the integrity of the user database. Information such as user IP address, internet service provider (ISP), web browser, operating system, approximate times of use, referring site, and any similar data exchanged between a user's computer and the servers of the Insafe Portal is collected on an aggregate basis, and no method exists to tie this information to a particular user account. This information is accessible only to the system administrators within the Insafe Team and is used to ensure the broadest sense of compatibility and connectivity between users and the Insafe Portal.

The Insafe Team keeps data for a maximum period of 3 years.
Site security
The Insafe Portal has implemented and continues to maintain appropriate technical and management measures to keep any personal information secure and safe from loss, damage, corruption, or deletion.
