The Magic of white listing

Parents are concerned what content their kids can find on the Internet or who they contact using an Internet connected PC. “White listing” is one answer.
EasyBits Software has developed software to ensure that kids stay safe when they're using Internet. Magic Desktop is designed for children aged up to 12 years. It includes a safe Internet browser, safe, spam and virus free e-mail software for kids.  It also includes educational and entertaining applications.

Kids software is all about controlling the kids' use of the PC without taking out the fun and learning.  This can be difficult if parents hang over their shoulder all the time.

Children, even the youngest children, should be able to work with text, pictures and sound. Sharing their work with relatives or friends is the next step. The visual experience is essential when children are introduced to new experiences and new ways of learning.

All parental control developers ought to make an effort to develop an interface that is adapted to children's needs, with functions that appeal to them. But most don't. Security software for children has, with only a few exceptions, an adult user interface.

Magic Desktop facilitates parental control and helps children get familiar with e-mail as a means of communication and Internet as an important tool of information and new knowledge.

To ensure 100% security, parents are required to approve all outside senders of e-mails to their children and all the websites they can view. This “white listing” approach helps parents to keep control in a way that cannot be guaranteed by blacklisting alternatives.
